We feature a class schedule for all ages.

Instructing in the following...

Karate in Japanese means "empty hand" and Do (pronounced doe) means "way". Karate Do, or empty hand way, instruction emphasizes self defense, and if required, a means of self preservation. Karate teaches very powerful kicks and hand strikes along with instruction in traditional weapons. Additionally, board and concrete breaking is taught to the more daring students. The end result is a student that becomes skilled not only in defending them self but also a person who has the self confidence and focus to strive higher.

Our family friendly instruction ever challenges the student right where their skill level permits. As they progress and become more proficient there's always a new challenge waiting. Our school encourages those students who wish to compete to participate in various regional and national competitions. Regardless, the satisfaction of receiving top notch instruction will help the average child or adult to perform at their best and become above average.

Jiu-Jitsu in Japanese means "art of softness", which was developed from judo, but with greater emphasis on ground grappling (ne waza). The instruction we provide incorporates Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo and karate ground techniques so that the karate student is familiar with what to do in the event they have to fight from the ground. Dynamic throws, arm bars, and chokes are a few techniques taught. Sensei John Zurisk has had the pleasure of working with some of the best instructors in the jiu-jitsu and judo world. These techniques are taught as a special class and ultimately add to the student's resume of martial arts skill.
